Alfred Smith & Son is a family owned, independent company. Originally established in 1811 the business has operated from its current premises since 1840.

As well as funeral directing, the business is also well known as a house furnishers. This unusual combination of businesses dates back to the days when our cabinet makers and upholsterers also built and furnished coffins. We are one of only a handful of companies that retain this traditional link between the two businesses.
